Cam the Camera Man
I am filmmaker based in Dayton, Yellow Springs, and Columbus, Ohio. A Graduate of the Wright State University Motion Picture’s program (2018), I am a protégé and longtime collaborator of Oscar-winning filmmakers Steve Bognar and Julia Reichert, the directors of “American Factory.” Primarily working in documentary, my work focuses are on socioeconomic themes and issues. Some of my work as a documentary cinematographer include the PBS film “Redlining: Inequality in Dayton and Springfield (2022),” and “Dave Chappelle: Live in Real Life (2021).” I specialize in vérité, handheld, follow-doc, sit-down interview, and narrative/doc shooting styles. I am currently in pre-production directing two documentaries (one short, one feature), and serving as lead cinematographer on another.
I started off with an interest in experimental and narrative filmmaking, and was inspired early on by traditional dramas, and avant-garde pictures. With an interest in politics, community action, and social identity in America, I eventually gravitated towards documentary. I also enjoy providing video production services for commercial work and branded content, and stage productions. With an all encompassing field of experience in the Motion Pictures Industry, I would consider myself a documentarian second, and a filmmaker first.
